Information
Our agriculture project focuses on empowering farmers through innovative techniques and cooperative models. We strive to improve livelihoods, ensure food security, and promote environmental sustainability. Explore how we're making a difference in communities and how you can support our mission.

Farmer-centered innovations
We leverage farmer-centered innovations to enhance agricultural practices and outcomes:
Mobile Advisory Services: Providing farmers with timely information via apps and SMS alerts, including weather forecasts, market prices, and expert advice.
Cooperative Models: Facilitating shared access to tools, markets, and collective learning opportunities through cooperative frameworks.

Economic empowerment
Our agriculture project significantly improves the lives of the people it serves through:
Increased Yields & Incomes: Introducing improved farming techniques, quality seeds, and better irrigation to enable farmers to produce more crops, leading to higher incomes.
Access to Markets: Connecting farmers with local, national, or export markets, enabling them to sell at fair prices and reduce dependency on middlemen.
Job Creation: Creating employment opportunities not just in farming, but in processing, transport, and services around the value chain.

Improved food security & nutrition
We also focus on:
Diversified Crop Production: Promoting crop diversity (vegetables, legumes, fruits) enhances household nutrition and reduces reliance on a single crop.
Year-Round Food Availability: Employing techniques like irrigation, post-harvest storage, and seasonal planning to ensure food is available even during lean periods.
Environmental sustainability
We are committed to environmentally sustainable practices, including:
Soil and Water Conservation: Implementing practices like composting, mulching, and water harvesting improve long-term productivity and protect natural resources.
Climate Resilience: Employing climate-smart agriculture helps communities adapt to changing rainfall patterns, droughts, and extreme weather.
Biggest achievements
Our biggest achievements and success stories include strong yield improvements through the introduction of improved crop varieties and better water/irrigation infrastructure. We've also enabled more frequent cropping through better swamp/lowland rehabilitation and improved methods. Value-addition and market linkages are vital, including processing, aggregation, certified seed initiatives, and reducing post-harvest loss.
Future goals & plans
Our future goals and plans for expanding the agriculture project include:
Increase Scale and Reach: Expanding to more counties/communities beyond current project areas. Targeting at least 5,000–10,000 new smallholder farmers, with a focus on women and youth. Partnering with local extension officers and cooperatives to scale faster and sustainably.
Introduce Climate-Smart Practices: Promoting climate-resilient crops. Expanding use of System of Rice Intensification (SRI) and agroforestry in vulnerable areas. Supporting soil and water conservation training.
Improve Access to Inputs and Infrastructure: Setting up input hubs or agro-dealer networks. Rehabilitating more irrigation systems and swamplands. Investing in storage, aggregation centers, and rural roads.
Promote Value Addition and Agribusiness: Supporting the development of processing units for rice, cassava, palm oil, and vegetables. Training farmer groups and youth in agribusiness, marketing, and packaging. Facilitating access to finance for farmers and agri-processors.
Strengthen Partnerships and Sustainability: Working with government agencies and donors. Collaborating with private sector partners. Developing a monitoring and feedback system to measure impact.
Focus on Youth and Women Empowerment: Launching agribusiness incubation programs for rural youth. Supporting women-led cooperatives. Using digital tools to improve outreach and engagement.
Long-Term Vision (3–5 Years): Achieving 30–50% increase in yields for target crops. Ensuring at least 60% of project beneficiaries report improved incomes and food security. Establishing the project as a replicable model.
